Sussex Insurance - Penticton

I called Sussex Insurance a couple of weeks ago and received excellent help over the phone regarding how to proceed with an out-of-province insurance swap. Today, after completing my insurance mechanical check, I was excited to go to Sussex to finalize the swap. When I arrived and explained that I was there to do the out-of-province insurance swap and had all my documents ready, the staff member told me that they don't handle those transactions. I was confused because I had previously spoken to someone who was very helpful. When I mentioned this, she asked how long ago that was. I told her it was just a couple of weeks ago and that I had just completed the mechanical inspection, which is why I was there now to swap the insurance. She then changed her response, saying that they do handle such swaps, but she didn't have enough staff to leave the office at that moment. While I understand that and would have been willing to come back later, her initial response made me feel like she didn't want to help me. I would like to understand why I was told the service was not available at all And question out to how long ago I talked to somebody ,when she could have stated I could come back later when there was more help. Throughout the interaction, she seemed impatient, even though I was polite and simply seeking assistance. I ended up going to Auto Plan on Mart Street, where they quickly and efficiently completed my insurance swap. They provided excellent service, explained everything thoroughly, and even removed the license plates from my vehicle for me. I'm disappointed that my experience at Sussex was not the same.

I have never had such a bad experience anywhere. The older lady that works at this location is the rudest person I’ve ever dealt with in the service industry. Extremely condicending, and miserable. She was the same way to the two ladies in front of me as well. When I told her she was difficult to deal with, she responded with “well, you can go elsewhere”. After reading reviews for this location, she is literally responsible for the 3.9 star rating. The fact that she still works here is incredible, she shouldn’t be dealing with the public.

I've been here twice and both experiences have been absolutely awful, the first time I was just asking questions, and the older lady was super snappy and just rude about answering a couple of simple questions.. I figured maybe she was having a bad day. So I go in a second time on a different day, same attitude, honestly as someone who works in customer service, someone like that should not be in the customer service industry, that is my personal opinion, but the fact she was being like that to the other people in the same line up I was, says alot about a business that keeps people like that around. I definitely won't be going back.
