My Insurance Broker (Airdrie)

I've had my insurance policy with Parklane for 5 years. My broker was Riley. Riley left last fall and Trupti took my file over. Within 1 month, and at Christmas time, my insurance was mysteriously cancelled due to non-payment. (The money was in the account they just didn't take it) Suddenly my insurance is rewritten down to PLPD but costing $1200/year more- also demand full year payment in advance and forced a high interest loan. So. I have been insurance shopping as I own a Business, home and multiple vehicles. This was just my winter car policy. Turns out Trupti is a liar. Intact never cancelled my policy- it was due for renewal and Trupti manipulated the policy. My insurance rating with the underwriters (intact) is completely fine. My credit is completely fine. Trupti used both as excuses to increase my insurance more than $1200 per term and demand a high interest loan. I've moved all vehicles to a different broker. I have submitted a complaint to the superintendent of insurance for Alberta based on this business conduct. Buyer beware.

Run!!!! A negative 5 stars if i could set it. I was switching insurance companies because I found a better price(by half) and this company proceeded to tell me that my home insurance policy didn't exist. They switched their provider and "forgot" to contact me or transfer my policy, yet they have been taking the payments out of my account. As the broker back peddled through her words trying to rationalize it to me she blamed my sister who is also on the policy. Then told my sister a different story. The integrity lacks in the company. She asked what other company I chose and when I told her she said "I don't want to slander another company but..." I cut her off reminding her that the diligence from her company was nothing to be proud of. now they want me to pay a cancelation fee and all other expenses pertaining to the non existent policy. I have held up to my end of the financial requirements for this policy. Absolutely unprofessional and down right scammy feels.

I would pick no stars if possible. Have been dealing with Parklane for years and suddenly staff is changing constantly and even the owner Richard will not return my phone calls or emails. Poorly run business and will not last much longer if they continue as they are. Customer service is extremely disappointing and dishonest. Promises are not kept and even hard quotes are not honoured. I found out about paying much higher premiums than quoted upon my first bill. Richard the owner will not stand behind his quotes. I would recommend finding insurance elsewhere.

I have canceled my commercial insurance with Richard almost 2 years ago. Richard have done a very dishonest work by sending blank forms to sign and return. He then activated the insurance policy when I was not yet ready to start working do to that commercial plates registration takes about 2 month to get them. After talking directly to Intact insurance, I was told that the brokers are the only ones that have the power to change starting dates and any changes to your policy. Is a very common procedure, also if you don’t need a vehicle on the road it policy can be changed to fire and theft only for a fraction of the monthly policy payment and park the truck. After we discussed this issue with Richard he agreed to move the starting date, to when I was going put the truck on the road. He end up not doing it and tried to take over $7,000 payment from my bank account a few times over. Noticing this I confronted Richard, he replied that he was going to do it on the year end of the policy. I didn’t agree with that and immediately canceled all policies without moving the truck, the truck never worked. He agreed to fo so and that there was not charges. I never heard from him again, and now almost 2 years after. I got an email and a phone call from Richards office trying to collect the $7000 plus payment. Something is really wrong with Parklane Insurance and it management. Please be very cautious. Send A Car

They were great until they weren't. And now they completely ghost us, no response to emails. Phone calls and voicemails go unanswered and not even returned. Have been trying to get a hold of them since July. It all went downhill when Parklane changed to MyInsurance Broker. Are they even in business anymore? And if so, not the way to run a business if you can't even return phone calls/emails. Very disappointed when we were with them for almost 10 years. Don't even know who to talk to anymore. And we have unfinished business that needs to be taken care of.
