Intact Insurance

Don't just look at the overall reviews, look at the most recent reviews! I considered their home insurance recently especially it seems that they have a good Google rating. However, when I started to ask around, I heard enough stories that kept me away from them. If you are looking for quality service and don't want to waste unnecessary time arguing about your insurance claim...there are other choices out there. They are only good with some adjustors providing you with pretty words, but the quality of the service is lacking and there are certainly communication issues (you will feel like you are talking to a wall) when the conflict arise.Warning!!!: If you ARE with their home insurance, do not use their recommanded service providers. Good luck with that!

I had a flood in my suite when I was on holidays. Although my Strata should have covered all costs and should have rectified the claim...they did not! When I contacted my insurance agent she was amazing... supportive, informative and quick to have professionals to come in to assess the situation. My claim was dealt with and I was extremely happy with the outcome. I highly recommend this company.

Listen to the other negative reviews, that's the real experience. We'll be switching from them once our renewal comes up. Something so simple is made extremely complicated by Intact because they want to nickel and dime you as much as possible. They make it so difficult to get a claim going in hopes you'll give up. Avoid at all costs. They are also a massive conflict of interest. They own their own contractors and use them as a reference. So they can cheap out as much as possible in order to minimize how much they have to do. Imagine if your doctor is also your health insurer, or your mechanic is also your auto insurer. They can say you don't need this and that and deny your claims or do the bare minimum and not look out for your best interests to maximize their profits. Avoid at all costs.

I don't recommend Intact Home Insurance. The adjuster Elvis, the manager Eric Licis, and the customer resolution officer deliberately made a simple water leak claim procedure complicated, and they misrepresented the facts of the matter to their consumer. Intact forced the consumer to proceed from a simple water leak claim to a bad faith claim. Update Jan 23, 2026, after hearing: It's unimaginable that they are likely to abuse legal procedures, and the manager Eric Licis fabricated Affidavit that contains false statements to the BC provincial court. We have considered a serious offence with this matter.

Our apartment burnt down and we had lost over 200k worth of things, this insurance won't even pay at least $75k of anything that were entitled to, they paid $56k that's it, the rest they keep?? Why is it so difficult to see that everything inside is ash! I'll show you how my whole library and all my gowns burnt down! 😒 I got nothing out of it, so im literally next to homeless and you cant even help your client! When now I gotta rent somewhere else and start over, they have no idea how expensive clothing and food is!! When you need insurance to pay up and they nickle and dime you and cut back over 50% of what you claimed, it's no use to ever consider these guys, look elsewhere or just save your money and use it for emergencies if this was to ever happen to anyone. Intact insurance never again!
