We have been Co-operators customers for over 20 years. Randy Jasper took over our policy from the previous owner quite a number of years ago. In January we had a devastating fire, only to find out Randy didn’t have us insured adequately. We were unaware that we weren’t insured for the contents of the building, or full replacement insurance on the building, as was requested. Randy in fact texted me, AS the building was burning to ask about the value that should be on the building. The building had been completed, heated, and was in full operation, which Randy was advised of 1 year and 10 days before the fire, we had even sent him pictures of the completed and fully stocked building. After the fire, we were dealing with Randy’s wife, and the owner of the Yorkton office, Lori Jasper. While we were working through our claim, at our adjuster’s prompting, I contacted the Yorkton office for our policy wordings 3 times, I have never received them. We have had to finance a huge part of the loss to get us back to a point of being able to function again, and it will take years for us to get back to where we were the day before our fire, because of his errors. I have very recently found out that some of the changes that we asked to be made after the fire, were done, ( cancellations and additions) but no one ever contacted me with an amount due. We have since switched offices, and I had no idea there was a balance owing. I have now received a letter that my insurance has been cancelled. If you want an agent who will small talk for hours, this is your place. If you want to have the peace of mind that your belongings are insured in case a horrible disaster hits, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere.
